Strömsund homestead museum, where you can see "Giant Jorm", a 6 metre high statue erected in memory of the world première of Beppe Wolger's film "Dunderklumpen". There is also a handicrafts exhibition and shop as well as a technical shop with a unique collection of boat motors.
The geological garden at the senior high school in Strömsund has a fine collection of rocks and stones from the area. The Örtagården herb garden has some aromatic plants and a number of herbs used for medical purposes. Rock paintings at Fångsjön and Brattforsen.
The "Wilderness Way" - a round trip over the Stekenjokk mountain massif to Vilhelmina - starts in Strömsund. Hällingsåfallet is northern Europe's largest canyon, 800 metres long with walls 50-60 metres high. The waterfall is 43 metres high. Guided tours of the Coral Grotto, Sweden's longest. Major events during the year include the Dunder market, trotting week in Hoting and fairytale week.
