Welcome to Skeppsdockan Camping & Vandrarhem, a charming oasis located right by the Göta Canal and just a short walk from the picturesque town center of Söderköping. Stay close to the canal’s shimmering waters, where boats glide by quietly and history lingers in every cobblestone street.

The campsite offers a large number of electric pitches, many of which can be booked online. For those who prefer tenting, there are scenic spots without electricity beautifully situated right by the canal. Guests wishing to stay longer can choose seasonal pitches in a peaceful natural setting.

Accommodation options are varied to suit different needs. There are five cabins without toilets or showers, a fully equipped apartment with kitchen, shower and WC, as well as the idyllic cabin Brovaktarstället, complete with private shower and WC. In the old canal buildings, carefully renovated with respect for the site’s history, you’ll find the hostel with cozy rooms where showers and toilets are shared in common facilities.

The buildings house the reception, sanitary facilities and accommodation, all set in an environment where past and present meet in a unique way. In the reception, guests can buy ice cream, drinks and sweets, and also rent bicycles to explore the surroundings. The old towpaths along the Göta Canal have been transformed into scenic cycle trails winding through the landscape. A ride to Mem, where the canal meets the Baltic Sea and where its construction was once inaugurated, is highly recommended. The distance is about six kilometers – a perfect excursion for the whole family.

Söderköping itself is a destination worth exploring. The charming cobbled streets, colorful wooden houses and lively small shops create an idyllic setting for a slow-paced holiday. The location is also ideal for day trips to Kolmården Wildlife Park or Astrid Lindgren’s World in Vimmerby.
