Visby Strandby – Norderstrand Citycamping is located by the seafront in northern Visby. Enjoy a stay by the sea with Visby’s medieval city wall and historic centre within walking distance, where restaurants, shopping, historical attractions await. Facilities and restaurant on site
The campsite has easily accessible service buildings with toilets, showers and shared kitchens. Laundry facilities with a washing machine and tumble dryer are also available. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campsite.
During the high season, the summer restaurant next to reception is open with views of the sea. Start your day with freshly baked bread and coffee, then return later for food and drinks. In the evening, relax and enjoy the sea views and a beautiful Gotland sunset.
Seaside city camping in Visby
Visby Strandby enjoys a beautiful seaside location in northern Visby. Just outside the campsite you will find the beach and swimming jetties, while Visby’s medieval city wall is approximately 1 km away.
The location makes it easy to leave the car behind and explore Visby on foot or by bike. Follow the seafront promenade, stop for a swim or continue towards the city wall and Visby’s historic centre. Inside the walls, you can explore cobbled streets and discover restaurants, cafés, shops, cultural attractions and historic sights.
Visby Strandby is an excellent base for days by the sea, evenings in Visby and day trips around Gotland.
The campsite is centrally located in a lively setting, with pedestrians, cyclists and traffic moving along the seafront promenade and through the surrounding area, particularly during the summer months.
Close to Visby and transport connections
Visby Strandby is approximately 1 km from Visby’s city wall and around 2 km from the nearest grocery store. Visby Airport is approximately 3 km away, and the harbour and ferry terminal are also around 3 km from the campsite.
Location
From Visby Ferry Terminal
Follow the signs out of the harbour area and continue on Visbyleden towards road 149. Take the exit towards the hospital and drive down towards the sea. When you reach Snäckgärdsvägen, turn right and follow the road north along the seafront. After a short distance, you will find Visby Strandby on your right.
From Visby Airport
Leave the airport towards Visby and follow road 149 south. Take the exit towards Norderstrand/the hospital and continue down towards the sea. Continue south along Snäckgärdsvägen until you reach Visby Strandby.
Cabins
If you want to stay comfortably while still enjoying the camping atmosphere, there are cabins in several sizes and with different facilities. Choose from smaller, simpler cabins with toilets and showers in a nearby service building, to cabins with their own kitchen, toilet and shower. If you are looking for something between a tent and a cabin, furnished glamping tents are also available.
