Certification and classification
All campsites on Camping.se are certified by Svensk Camping. Many are also classified according to Sweden’s national quality system for campsites, the Swedish Camping Standard. Together, these systems make it both safer and easier to find the campsite that suits you best.
A sign of quality
To become a member of Svensk Camping, campsites must be run well and meet our minimum standard requirements. All member firms meet the requirements in our certification for Swedish campsites, which were introduced in 2022. Becoming a certified Swedish campsite is a stamp of quality that shows that the campsite complies with applicable laws and regulations on good business ethics and serious business practices. The certification requires the campsites to meet minimum requirements on work environment, sustainability, complaint procedures and onsite safety. A certified campsite, in other words, is a safe and secure choice for you as a guest.
What do the stars mean?
A campsite can choose to be classified according to Svensk Camping's classification system, which provides guests with additional information about services and standards. Our ambition is for this system to help you choose your holiday accommodation by comparing standards and services. The stars summarise the scores the campsite received within four categories: service buildings, areas, facilities and activities.
When searching for a campsite on Camping.se, you can filter by star rating. This makes it easy to find campsites that best match your preferences.
Three stars - Practical and well-organised
Campsites at this level offer a good basic standard with functional service buildings and the most important amenities. The facilities are wellmanaged with a limited - but useful - selection of activities and services. Perfect for those seeking simple but comfortable accommodation.
Four stars - Comfortable and well-equipped
These campsites offer a higher standard with modern service buildings and a broader selection of amenities. Expect good service, for example a store, and a wider selection of activities and services. The campsite is well-managed and well-thoughtout to offer an enjoyable camping experience.
Five stars - High standard and full service
Five-star campsites offer most of whatever visitors could want. With modern facilities and maximum comfort, they offer everything from restaurants and shops to spas, pools and activity areas. These facilities are designed to offer a comprehensive experience for both kids and adults - a true dream holiday!
Wilderness - Adventures close to nature
Wilderness camping is for those seeking nature's calm. Coming closer to nature - and not luxury and services - is the objective here. There might not be any electricity or service buildings, but in return visitors experience true wilderness and nature-based activities.
